Iranian film ‘Under the Smoky Roof’ has enjoyed a screening of the film at the Fajr Film Festival in Tehran.
Cast and crew of ‘Under the Smoky Roof’ were present at Milad Conference Hall in the Iranian capital city of Tehran during the seventh day of the 35th edition of the Fajr Film Festival on Saturday.
Pouran Derakhshandeh’s ‘Under the Smoky Roof’, starring Farhad Aslani and Merila Zarei, is competing against other domestic films at the film festival in Tehran and several other cities from January 31-February 10.
‘Under the Smoky Roof’ is based on the social and emotional dilemma of divorce in Iranian culture.
Fajr Festivals are held annually in Iran during the Fajr Decade (literally meaning ten days of dawn), which marks the anniversary of the ten days from the return of Imam Khomeini, founder of the Islamic Republic, to Iran (February 1) until the victory day of the Islamic Revolution (February 11) in 1979.
Since its establishment, Fajr Film Festival has played a vital role in the development of the Iranian Cinema.
Supervised by Iran’s Ministry of Culture, the festival hosts veteran directors and new filmmakers from Iran and across the world every year.
